Polyeuktos war von 956-970 Patriarch von Konstantinopel. Er starb am 5.2.970 in Konstantinopel. Die russische Fürstin Olga wurde von ihm auf den Namen Helena getauft. Weiter wird berichtet, daß in einem Kloster gefundene Reliquien und Kleidungsstücke, die den Aposteln Andreas, Thomas und Johannes sowie Lazarus, Lukas und dem Propheten Elisa gehören sollten, von Polyeuktos in die Apostelkirche in Konstantinopel übertragen wurden (Gedenktag 20.6.). |
